AI Video Upscaler & Finishing

Finishing that takes a render
to a master.

The Finishing Studio has two benches. Enhance runs a real model-side upscale and frame-rate boost, not a browser filter. The clipping bench cuts a long master into platform-length shorts. Delivery presets carry the result from log workflows to Netflix spec and DCP.

One studio, two benches

TWO BENCHES

Finishing is where a good render becomes a deliverable. Each bench does one job well. Enhance passes are metered in VX by the second of source; clipping is free.

Enhance bench

A real model-side upscale and frame-rate boost. The pass runs on generation infrastructure, not in your browser, so the pixels are re-rendered rather than stretched. Take a finished shot to 4K, or lift the FPS until the motion holds on a big screen.

Clipping bench

Cut a long render into platform-length shorts. One hero master becomes the vertical, square, and wide cutdowns the media plan asks for, without round-tripping through an external editor. It works on renders you already own, so it costs no VX.

Two roads to a 4K master

THE 4K PATHS

Where the render starts decides how it gets to 4K. Both figures below are live from the same pricing engine that meters the studio.

Native 4K on Cinema

The Cinema tier renders 4K directly, so a hero shot finishes at delivery resolution with no upscale pass at all. A 5-second native 4K master is 57 VX.

Upscaled 4K for every other engine

Renders from the rest of the roster go through the Enhance bench's 4K upscale, billed at 6 VX per second of source. A 5-second clip is 30 VX, and you see the estimated cost before you run.

UPSCALED 4K · 6 VX/SEC · 5S CLIP = 30 VX ($3.00 AT LIST)

DELIVERY

A master is only finished when it matches the spec it ships against. Every delivery preset locks codec, container, color profile, frame rate, and resolution, so the deliverable is decided before the export, not after the rejection.

System presets ship with the studio, and your org can extend the list with its own house specs.

Render to deliverable, four moves

HOW IT WORKS
01

Bring the render

Finish anything you generated on the roster. A finished shot lands in the Finishing Studio ready for either bench.

Generate the render
02

Enhance it

Run the model-side pass: upscale to 4K at 6 VX per second of source, or boost the frame rate at 5 VX per second until the motion reads clean. Cinema renders can skip this step, since they finish at native 4K.

03

Clip the cutdowns

Cut the long master into platform-length shorts on the clipping bench, free of VX. The media plan gets its formats from one approved render.

04

Deliver against a preset

Pick the delivery preset the job calls for. Codec, container, color profile, frame rate, and resolution are locked per preset, so the file that leaves the studio is the file the spec expects.

FAQ

The AI video upscaler, answered

Is the AI video upscale a real model pass or a browser filter?
A real model pass. The Enhance bench runs the upscale and the frame-rate boost model-side, on the same generation infrastructure that renders your shots. Nothing is faked with a client-side sharpen filter.
How much does the 4K upscale cost?
The 4K upscale bills 6 VX per second of source, so a 5-second clip is 30 VX, which is $3.00 at the $0.10 list rate per VX. You see the estimated cost before you run, and the final charge is metered on the measured duration of your source.
Do I need the upscaler if I render on Cinema?
No. The Cinema tier renders native 4K directly, so a hero shot can finish at delivery resolution with no upscale pass. The Upscaled 4K pipeline exists for renders from every other engine on the roster.
Can I cut a long render into social shorts?
Yes. The clipping bench cuts a long master into platform-length shorts, so one hero render becomes the vertical, square, and wide cutdowns a campaign actually ships. Clipping works on renders you already own and does not spend VX.
Which plan do I need for finishing?
4K Cinema finishing starts on the Studio plan. Premium finishing, meaning creative upscale, relight, and skin enhancer, starts on Studio Scale.
What delivery presets ship with the studio?
System presets cover Netflix delivery spec, Theatrical DCP, RED DNxHR, and Sony/Netflix ProRes 422 HQ. Each preset locks codec, container, color profile, frame rate, and resolution, and your org can extend the list with its own presets.
